Stormy waters

It's Christmas time, and with that there's the Christmas parties, the drinks, the celebrations. Tempting food all around.

It's tough to find some sort of balance between eating healthy but still enjoying yourself. I went to a Micheline starred restaurant the other day with my wife. It was a present from some family friends for our wedding.

The food was incredible. Top quality, cooked to perfection. Presented beautifully. Tiny portions but a lot of them, spaced out. The result...you end up feeling stuffed.

Then there's another work Christmas party on Friday.

Then there's Christmas day. And Boxing day. And a trip to Europe between Christmas and New Years.

I've just been to the local supermarket. There's the Christmas produce all there. Ham, Salmon, Cheeses, pigs in blankets and variety of other temptations.

It just gets more and more difficult.

At some point you have to accept that you're just not going to lose weight over this period. You can try to stem the tide and hold. Generally don't let things get too out of control. Just enjoy but within limits. Thats the strategy.

And afterwards, yes there'll be the payback but you can go again. You just have to navigate the storm right now
